Breaking the Silence, Call for Artists

Dates of Show: March 20 – May 2, 2020

Gallery Hours: Mon. – Fri. 8:30 – 4:30/ Sat. Noon – 5:00

Submission deadline to enter: Feb. 25, 2020

(Submissions must include in Word document form, (Calling card information: your name, title of artwork, medium, price or NFS) and a 2 paragraph description of your painting theme or biography or your philosophical statement on the theme of abuse. Two photos should be sent as jpegs. Send your Word document and photos to rdirks@cmu.ca when ready or to isabelcheer@gmail.com (204-488-0207) if you have questions or want your biography statement from the WAG show.

Size/Quantity: Two pieces of artwork only, well identified, can be up to 6 feet, any media, can include artwork that was shown in the WAG show. Artists are responsible for drop-off and pick-up of accepted artwork.

Artwork to Gallery: Feb. 26 – Mar. 14 (deadline). Call before you bring your artwork to be sure someone is there to receive it or email swolfe@cmu.ca (204-487-3300 Ext. 344)

Breaking the Silence on Domestic Violence 2 Call for Artists Manitoba consistently recorded the highest rate of intimate partner violence in Canada, with a police reported rate of 869  victims per 100,000 citizens, nearly double the Canadian rate of 482 per 100,000, according to statistics Canada family violence in Canada (a 2015 statistical profile) Eligibility: Calling on artists of all ages, genders, and skill levels to join the effort to put a stop to domestic violence.  Submissions: send digital images of maximum two artworks, any media to rdirks@cmu.ca see www.cmu.ca/gallery/ for details. Deadline: February 25, 2020 Artists are responsible for dropping-of and pick-up of accepted artworks.
