The Michael Langham Workshop is an opportunity for emerging directors to interact with their fellows while exploring and having access to all the aspects of a large repertory theatre.

This call is for theatre directors whose primary task will be assistant directing one of the plays in the Festival’s 2019 season. The Festival’s 2019 season begins in February with the final openings in August. Assistant directors are usually required for 8 to 16 weeks within that timeframe. Participants may be given the opportunity to choose a piece of classical text for the Directors’ Workshop Presentation slated for the fall of 2019. Workshop participants receive a fee, travel costs and a housing subsidy.
Applications must include a completed application form, a résumé, a letter of recommendation, a personal letter and a photo and can be submitted by mail or email. The application form and more information are available at stratfordfestival.ca/langhamworkshop.
Submissions must be postmarked or emailed by August 7, 2018. Decisions for 2019 will be made no later than November of 2018. Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
