Shawna Dempsey will share her tips for artistic survival, including grant writing do’s and don’ts, the importance of income diversification and how to build relationships that lead to opportunities. Topics covered in the workshop will also include budgeting, bookkeeping and risk management. Art is hard, but the even harder part is making a living at it.

About the instructor:
Shawna Dempsey was supported by her collaborative lesbian feminist performance art for 16 years: a monumental feat that almost killed her! She still makes art with Lorri Millan, curates, and is currently Co-Executive Director of Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art.
