| For over 15 years, Art from the Heart’s Show + Sale has become one of Winnipeg’s most popular art events. This two-day exhibition is an opportunity for inner city and lower income artists to showcase their artwork; it is also an opportunity for Winnipeggers from all neighbourhoods to purchase local art, support artists and participate in a positive community-building event.
Exhibiting artists come from diverse cultural backgrounds, artistic practices, and experiences. Many of these artists also experience limited access to resources, while also facing personal barriers to being recognized for their artistic talents. Organizers work hard to make Art from the Heart’s Show + Sale an inclusive and empowering event.
The 2018 event promises to be a huge success; this year’s exhibition will showcase work from over 110 artists. The opening night will have a musical performance by Winnipeg-based Argentinian musician Onna Lou from 6:30-7: 15 pm. Following that, local DJ chloesupreme will keep the music flowing from 7:30-9pm. You would not want to miss the performances by Studio 393 Break Dancers during her set.
