The Future is Female* is a brand new mentorship program aimed at involving more women-identified folx in the Gimli Film Festival and the greater filmmaking community! The program takes place on Friday, July 27th, in conjunction with the 18th annual Gimli Film Festival. Now with ASL interpretation for the hard of hearing!
 
As part of this program, GFF will provide up to 45 applicants with free transportation to the festival via charter bus from Winnipeg to Gimli for a full day of inspiring and educational woman-driven film programming on Friday, July 27th. This includes woman-directed film screenings, Q&As with out-of-town filmmakers, a workshop about producing your own films, a panel hosted by Women in View, a networking reception and more! If you are a woman-identifying person, we invite you to please apply today!
 
The schedule for Friday, July 27th is as follows:
10 am  – Bus leaves Winnipeg
11:30 am – Bus arrives in Gimli
Noon – ABOVE THE LINE, a film producing workshop with Rebecca Gibson (2hrs)
3 pm – Film Screening
5:30 pm – Women in View panel discussion & reception
8 pm – Film Screening
11 pm – Bus departs Gimli
Midnight – Bus arrives back in Winnipeg

*This program is, of course, meant to be inclusive, and as such the asterisk here is meant to represent any non-binary woman-identified folks. All woman-identified individuals are very much encouraged to apply to this program!
