Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba, with funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, mounts monthly online solo exhibitions to showcase the work of Canadian artists with disabilities.
Emerging and established artists of all disciplines (dance, film, visual art, comedy, music, etc.) are welcome to apply.
Selected artists will receive $423 CARFAC artist fees, and limited assistance with documentation/presentation of work if necessary.
Submission deadline is February 18, 2022. Only selected artists will receive notification.
To apply, send the following to programming@aanm.ca:
- A brief proposal (200 word max) describing your medium, the ideas you will be exploring in your show, and why you feel your concept is important.
- THREE small examples of your work (past work indicative of your style, and/or finished pieces you propose to show).
PLEASE NOTE:
- Video/audio submissions cannot exceed a maximum of 6 minutes total per artist. You can submit one 6min piece or 3 shorter pieces that add up to 6mins. Format must be YouTube video.
- Images: maximum file size is 200MB. Format must be jpeg.
Applicants must be Canadian and self-identify as disabled. AANM is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. To that end, we ask for Deaf and disability, culturally diverse, Indigenous, LGBT2Q*, rural and northern self-identification in your application if you choose. Applications are confidential, reviewed by staff and jury members.
