STEPS Public Art

STEPS Public Art is a Canadian-based national public art and charitable organization that fosters dynamic, inclusive and resilient communities through one-of-a-kind art initiatives and engagement strategies.

Mission: We engage and empower artists and communities to transform public spaces into vibrant places.

Mandate: We envision a world where artists and communities co-create meaningful, welcoming and safe public spaces. We work towards our vision and goals of:

  • Building community by connecting people to public space through shared cultural experiences
  • Amplifying the voices of Indigenous, Black, newcomer, LGBTQ+, racialized, disabled and equity-deserving artists
  • Expanding on relationships that enhance our ability to initiate, support and produce meaningful cultural projects across Canada
  • Enabling our team with training, resources and supports to meet their evolving needs and the needs of our stakeholders
