Call for Performances | Resonance: Voices and Visions Unfiltered

AANM is planning an evening of performances by d/Deaf and disabled performers. We are seeking proposals from comedians, actors, dancers, and other performance artists.

Artists can choose from the following:

  • Performance only -OR-
  • Performance and meet-and-greet, artist talk, or workshop

Performances must be between 10-45 minutes.

This is a paid opportunity and artists will receive:

  • Performance only (required) – $1,000
  • Meet-and-greet (optional) – $100
  • Artist talk or workshop (optional0 – $520

Four (4) artists will be selected.

Venue: Gas Station Arts Centre, 445 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L0C9

Performance Date: May 1, 2026 (workshop and artist talks will take place in March and April 2026)

AANM can provide up to $500 worth of equipment and on-site tech assistance.

Deadline to apply: November 15, 2025

We encourage Indigenous, northern, rural, racialized/BIPOC, 2SQTBIPOC, and 2SLGBTQIA+ artists to self-idenfity in their application.


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Artist bio (100 words max)
  2. Artist CV (2 pages max)
  3. Show proposal (500 words max)
  4. Email address or address for e-transfer payment (if selected)
  5. A description of access needs for your performance
  6. Supporting documentation showing past work or the performance you are proposing. Choose one of the following:
    • 4 photos (.jpg format), OR
    • Video (YouTube link, 2 minutes max), OR
    • Audio (mp3 or YouTube link, 2 minutes max)
