The Canada Council for the Arts is proud to announce that it has teamed up with CBC/Radio-Canada to offer an exciting new opportunity to artists in Canada starting this summer.

The initiative, called the Creation Accelerator, is designed to support the development, creation and sharing of original digital content for potential distribution on CBC/Radio-Canada’s digital platforms.

The initiative will have two phases. Successful applicants will receive an initial grant to develop an original idea working with an independent producer and mentored by CBC/Radio-Canada. Following this development phase, the Canada Council and CBC/Radio-Canada will select projects for production and potential distribution on CBC/Radio-Canada’s digital platforms.

Who will be able to apply?

The Creation Accelerator will be open to artists, artistic organizations and groups across the country with a validated Canada Council profile, in all fields of practice, including new and early career artists. No prior digital experience will be required.

What types of projects will be funded?

We’ll be looking for proposals for unique and boundary-pushing content, with the potential to engage a broad audience or underserved public.  Consider pitching your idea for a podcast, web series, short doc, digital graphic novel, experimental dance video, sound art, animation and more. This is your opportunity to think outside the box!

When is the deadline?

The deadline for the first phase of the Creation Accelerator will be
October 16, 2019.

When will I be able to apply?

Full guidelines and details for the Creation Accelerator will be shared in late June when the initiative opens for applications on Council’s grant application portal.

Le Conseil des arts du Canada est fier d’annoncer son partenariat avec CBC/Radio-Canada afin d’offrir, à compter de l’été, une nouvelle occasion stimulante aux artistes canadiens.

L’initiative, appelée L’accélérateur de création, est conçue pour appuyer le développement, la création et le partage de contenu numérique original qui pourrait être diffusé sur les plateformes de CBC/Radio-Canada.

L’initiative comportera deux phases. Les demandeurs dont la proposition est retenue recevront une première subvention pour mettre au point une idée originale en collaborant avec un producteur indépendant et en étant guidés par CBC/Radio-Canada. Après cette phase de développement, le Conseil des arts du Canada et CBC/Radio-Canada sélectionneront certains projets pour qu’ils soient produits et possiblement diffusés sur les plateformes de CBC/Radio-Canada.

Qui pourra présenter une demande?

L’accélérateur de création sera offert aux artistes ainsi qu’aux groupes et aux organisations artistiques dans l’ensemble du pays qui ont un profil valide auprès du Conseil des arts du Canada, peu importe leur champ de pratique. Les nouveaux artistes et les artistes en début de carrière pourront aussi présenter une demande. Aucune expérience numérique n’est exigée.

Quels types de projets seront financés?

Nous privilégierons les demandes qui proposent du contenu unique et repoussant les limites et qui ont le potentiel d’intéresser un vaste public ou un groupe négligé. Envisagez la possibilité de proposer votre idée pour une baladodiffusion, une série web, un court documentaire, une bande dessinée numérique, une vidéo de danse expérimentale, de l’art sonore, une animation ou tout autre projet. Saisissez l’occasion de sortir des sentiers battus!

La date limite pour la première phase de L’accélérateur de création sera
le 16 octobre 2019.

Quand pourrai-je présenter une demande?

Les lignes directrices et les renseignements détaillés concernant L’accélérateur de création seront disponibles à la fin de juin 2019, lorsque l’initiative sera publiée dans le portail de subventions du Conseil pour recevoir les demandes.
