Dig out your ripped tights, leather jacket, and scrunchies for a radical 80s celebration at the WAG. Take in art from the new exhibition, The 80s Image, dance with local DJs, watch retro music videos, and play classic arcade games. Don’t have any 80s attire? No problem! Create your own accessories at our bedazzle station and pop-up hair salon.

ALL FREE • Pay $10 to skip the line (this line moves at the same pace, but is shorter)

Feature Exhibition 
Don’t miss the opening of The 80s Image, exploring artists’ responses to the rapidly expanding media landscape of video, television, cinema, satellite and computer imagery, and billboard advertising. Featuring work by Peter Doig, Wanda Koop, Ken Lum, General Idea, and many more.

Dance Party • Eckhardt Hall & Rooftop, 8 pm-2 am
Dance the night away to retro music videos, lasers, and live music with local DJs Mon Marty and DJ Brian Sinclair.

Bedazzle Station • Skylight Gallery, 6 pm-11 pm (or until supplies run out)
Create your own 80s-inspired accessories using rhinestones and studs.

Studio 80s Pop-up Hair Salon • Muriel Richardson Auditorium Lobby, 10 pm-12 am
Visit the Studio Salon team from Aveda Institute Winnipeg for totally awesome hairstyling and touch-ups! Bring your hair scrunchies or bows and get ready for feathered bangs, crimping, and side ponies that will take you right back to the 1980s.

Arcade Lounge • Lecture Room, 6 pm-2 am
Enjoy a classic arcade with retro games. No quarters required!

Snack Bar • Eckhardt Hall, 8 pm-2 am
Running out of fuel? Give your feet a break, relax, and nosh on an 80s-inspired snack.
