The “Seeing My Voice” (“Voix Visible”) Art Show is the first art show by this fantastic group of six deaf photographers, to be showcased at La Maison des artistes visuels Francophones. This groups has been mentoring under and learning from ADNM board member, Sheila Spence. They will be having an opening night reception on August 19, 2016, and the show will be running from August 19 through September 10, 2016.
From the poster:
Over the past nine months, we six Deaf photography students have had the opportunity to learn under the professional photographer and artist, Sheila Spence. Our time with Sheila included 18 classes that ran from September 2015 until May 2016 where Sheila shared ideas and concepts that our group had never thought to ever consider. Sheila taught us how to create an art show from beginning to completion. So now here we are showing our arts. We are having our Opening Reception night on Friday August 19 from 7 to 10 pm. Our exhibit will be on display until September 10, 2016. An Art Show inspired by Dana Zimmer, Judyta Szacilowski, Cheryle Broszeit, Vanecia Austria, Karli Stephenson and Andrew Nelson.
