Last Friday the Winnipeg Free Press released their review of the Shakespeare in the Ruins (SIR) 2016 run of Richard III. The Winnipeg production, as the FreeP touts in the title, is the first production in Canada where the famously disabled King is actually played by a disabled person — ADNM member Debbie Patterson.
Subtitled on its poster as “a disability revenge play,” the Shakespeare in the Ruins’ production of Richard III casts Winnipeg actor Debbie Patterson as Richard, a physically misshapen royal scion employed as a secret weapon in the battle between the Lancaster and York families.
The play will be running through June 25th. Click here to read the full review.
And ADNM is holding a draw for all who attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 22nd for two free tickets to the closing night performance.
