Elevate your public art career and gain experience! Join our growing National Public Art Affiliates Network. 

As a Project Coordinator or Production Staff, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to inspiring public art projects across Canada by supporting the delivery of our programs and services on an as-needed basis. While project availability may vary and is not guaranteed, network members enjoy priority consideration for exciting new projects and roles across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage public art projects from inception to completion
• Provide production support for large cultural events and public art installations
• Engage with diverse communities to ensure inclusive project execution
• Collaborate with artists, stakeholders, and community members
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables

Qualifications

• Proven experience in project coordination and production support, preferably in the public art or cultural sector on an as-needed basis
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Specialized skills or expertise in areas, such as Indigenous engagement, working with the disability community, bilingualism and technical production (e.g. new media projects, large cultural events) are considered assets

STEPS Public Art is a Canadian charity and social enterprise dedicated to connecting art and communities to create welcoming, safe, and inclusive public spaces across Canada. We specialize in creating and managing public art projects, cultural plans, hoarding exhibits, and artist capacity building programs.

Our main office is based in the Ancestral Wendat territory and the shared territory of the Anishinaabeg and the Haudenosaunee, covered by The Dish With One Spoon treaty, and later, Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. STEPS is committed to cultivating safe space for Indigenous voices to be heard.
