DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 1 for the opening of Ostomy Cowboy\, a solo exhibition by Rae Spoon. Ostomy Cowboy at Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba is Rae’s first gallery exhibition. The show features films that are moving self-portraits accompanied by music that explore Rae’s identity as a non-binary\, trans artist who lives with multiple disabilities.\n\n\n\nEvent details: Ostomy Cowboy (Rae Spoon) May 1 to June 25\, 2026 | Opens May 1\, 2026 5pm-8pm | AANM Gallery\, 329 Cumberland Ave. (102)  \n\n\n\nRae Spoon is a musician\, film maker\, and author. They have released thirteen solo albums spanning folk\, country\, indie rock\, and electronic genres and published three books (Arsenal Pulp Press). Rae has been nominated for two Polaris Prizes\, a Lambda Literary Award\, and a Western Canadian Music Award. They have toured internationally (Canada\, Europe\, the USA\, Australia\, China). \n\n\n\nRae Spoon is an uninvited guest and settler with European ancestry on stolen land. They were born and grew up on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkínsstsisi/Calgary (the traditional and ancestral territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Kainai\, Piikani and Siksika as well as the Tsuu T’ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nation). Rae currently lives between Tkoronto/Toronto (the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit\, the Anishnabeg\, the Chippewa\, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples) and Tiohtià:ke/Montréal (the unceded Indigenous lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka/Mohawk Nation). \n\n\n\nHeadshot: Laurence Philomene\, courtesy of the artist
